Portable Toilet and Hire Companies

The need for portable toilets has lead to the emergence of portable toilet hire companies to cater for the demand. The range of mobile toilets available range from very small portable camping units to full sized singular occupancy units, and sometimes units that hold four or five cubicles and can be designed with urinals for males and without for females. These large units also usually have basins installed and mirrors. These large units are designed almost like a caravan style unit and can be attached to a truck and towed to the location it is needed for.

These are considered fairly luxury mobile toilet units and are quite specialised to certain portable toilet hire companies. The most high tech luxury portable toilet units are very modern and are usually found in large city centres where toilet facilities are needed for public use. These units are still considered portable toilets even though they remain static in one location for a significant amount of time if not permanently. The extra defining element for the portable toilet is that it does not have to be connected to any plumbing system as well as being mobile. The units will all feature a storage tank for waste containment.

The design of the porta loo can be broken down into two basic systems. There is the dry toilet and the chemical toilet. The dry toilet does not have a flushing mechanism to rid the bowl of waste, as this can be a breeding ground fro germs and bacteria there is usually a water supply sometimes as simple as a bucket that the person can scoop water from and then pour down the bowl in order to remove the waste to the storage tank. The chemical toilet is different. It has a separate tank that holds a cleaning solution that is specially designed for use in these mobile toilet units. Once the occupier has finished using the toilet there is a flush facility that then washes the waste away with the chemical detergent into the waste storage tank.

This type of chemical washes provides a much more healthy environment toilet environment and usually needs less maintenance by the hire company. It is not really financially sensible for a company to purchase a portable toilet unit, even though they may use them often. Companies such as music festival organisers, music events and building companies all have a high rate of usage for the mobile toilet but they choose to use mobile toilet hire companies for their events and locations. These hire companies will not only provide the unit but also transport it to and from the location, secure it for use and keep the unit in a clean and sanitary condition by providing cleaners to attend to them at agreed frequency, depending on how heavy the use of the unit is. With all this maintenance needed to maintain the unit it is far more economically viable for a company to hire the mobile toilet than to purchase and maintain their own.
